SANDEEP GILL
DIRECTOR
NARRATIVE FILM

I help me tell stories by directing films.
This is one of those films.

INT. HOME. DAY

Establishing shots of the HOUSE. Living room, hallway, attic.

Introduce MUM as she walks down stairs.

Introduce kitchen and radio motif.

CUT TO:

Establishing shot of bathroom.

Mum walks across hallway as door opens by itself. Make sure it opens before she reaches to emphasise the House.

Mum stood at window looking out at the unknown as the House breathes.

CUT TO:

INT. KITCHEN. DAY

Mum cooking in the kitchen - setup for the House smell and groan action.

EXT. GARDEN. DAY

Sandeep's mum acting in front of a camera set-up

Dwell (2021)

A unique narrative short film single-handedly shot entirely during the original lockdown. A one-person crew and one-mother cast - a film featuring my mum, who’s never acted, and a very, very unlikely hero… This film was shot as an experiment during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic and so has none of my usual crew, no dialogue, and was all shot all in a single location. Armed with a copious amount of samosas, this is what we ended up with.

INT. HOSPITAL. DAY

Fade up.

ROY
You're Alexandria?

ALEXANDRIA
Stops walking away and turns around; curious.

ROY
Your note came in, and landed on my lap. Couldn't even understand it. It's written in gibberish or something.

ALEXANDRIA
It's not meant foryou!

ROY
My name's Roy. How'd you hurt your arm?

ALEXANDRIA
Explains that she ran fell.

ROY
Me too.

ALEXANDRIA
How do you go to the toilet?

ROY
I don't. They let me go right here.

Lucky you, you're early. Still working on this. Will be up tomorrow.

The Fall (2017)

An epic theatrical adaptation of Tarsem Singh's 2006 cult classic, The Fall. A visual performance which combines theatre, original live music, animation, and projection; about one man's struggle with depression and his path to hope. An incredibly complex production, done on a fringe budget. Exhibited in Notting Hill, London.
